Q:Where can the product be used?
Descal-A-Matic magnetic, non-chemical, environmentally green water treatment can be used in every kind of water carrying system. In either re-circulating systems or in once-through systems. Main line installations to residences, office buildings, restaurants, hospitals, surgery centers and other medically related facilities are significant money-saving applications to our clients. Our Units replace the need for conventional salt water softeners and in many cases also reverse osmosis units and de-ionization systems.
Q:Can it be used for well water as well as domestic water?
YES
Q:What is the life expectancy of the D-A-M Unit?
If the Units are serviced according to our written instructions, they will last literally forever. We are in our 41st year of business and we have clients with Units still functioning at full efficiency after 35 plus years.
Q:What kind of power source is required?
No power source is required. The Units are self-powered by a permanent magnetic core.
Q:Is it beneficial to residential applications?
YES
Q:What needs to be replaced?
Nothing ever needs to be replaced.
Q:What is the frequency of inspection and cleaning?
Once every 12 months after initial start-up.
Q:Can it be used for once through and Recirculating systems?
YES, BOTH
Q:What are the operating pressure limitations?
200 psi
Q:Does it treat iron in the water?
Our treatment sequesters iron as Fe2O3 up to 0.5ppm.
Q:Will it replace conventional water softeners?
YES
Q:Will it replace reverse osmosis units?
YES, in the majority of cases. Depending on the specific application.
Q:What is the payback period as opposed to chemical water treatment?
Typical payback time is 12 months. After that there are NO further costs.
Q:Does D-A-M conform to EPA and OSHA regulations?
Our clients never have issues with conforming to either EPA or OSHA regulations, because our treatment is a passive physical one based on the laws of physics. Nothing is added to the water and nothing is taken out of the water.
Q:How often do anodes need to be replaced in Cu - Ag flow cells?
Once every 18 months.
Q:How close to the application does the unit need to be installed?
It depends on the application. We have Units in underground applications in coal mines for example that are 2 miles upstream from the application. However, the typical distance is within 10 feet of the application.
Q:Can ionization be used in place of chlorine, bromine, ozone and other oxidents?
YES
Q:What is the maximum hardness of water that can be treated?
Our experiences during the past 40 years have been with water hardnesses up to a maximum of 400ppm.
Q:What can you do for fuel?
We have Fuel-Saver Units that are also magnetically powered that are documented to save diesel fuel from a minimum of 10% up to as much as 30%. At the same time, these Fuel-Saver Units significantly reduce noxious emissions from diesel burning engines.
